Meditative Morning
Oct. 8th, 2002 06:25 amLast night I reconfigured my altar using the new altar cloth, a central spiral mandala of opalescent glass beads, and a fresh placing of tools for the quarters of the Circle. This morning I awoke with some rather interesting imagery in mind, in particular, the Knight of Staves from the Ancestral Path Tarot.

What was particularly striking to me was the eye of the falcon. It is interesting that this image should be in my mind as I awake the morning after reconfiguring my altar using a variety of items from different cultures. The Knight of Staves card usually represents creative process in action whether it be internal or external. And one of the primary emphases of the Ancestral Path Tarot is the use of several cultures as its means of suit expressions, i.e. ancient Egypt for Staves, Japan for Swords, Northern Europe for Cups, and Native America for Sacred Circles. It is a beautiful deck as is clearly evident from the image presented here.
Additionally, while checking out some of my favorite sites for more information this morning, I discovered this:

For some yet-to-be-determined reason, it seemed to fit with this whole new altar/Knight of Staves experience. Definitely food for thought.
