A Brewfully Tasty Evening
Aug. 23rd, 2004 04:45 pmSo yesterday we decided, after having a fantastic (and VERY filling) brunch and walking a good way to get home, to go on the H.A.W. Allow me to explain. H.A.W. simply put means:
Homosexual Alcohol Walk
We do this whenever we feel the need to avail ourselves of the local big discount liquor store for a delectable array of decadent libations to soothe our uncontrollable hedonistic urges. And thus we found ourselves, on a day of very obviously waning summer, heading for the local supermarket for the requisite pate and cheese and to our favorite H.A.W. location...Kappy's.
We arrived with eager anticipation of the luscious, thirst-quenching treats which lay in store and headed immediately for the ale section. *pause to drool with the memory* The list of brewed acquisitions is as follows:
1.Fiddler's Elbow and Goliath: both very nice, even, English ales
2. Fischer's Amber: a decidedly smooth and definitely repeat-worthy Biere d'Alsace
3. Arrogant Bastard: this was our favorite with regard to marketing. And they weren't kidding when they said on the label that, "this is an aggressive beer." They then went on to rail against any wimpy, lame-assed moron who happens to fall for the more horsepiss variety of some of the larger, mega-advertised breweries in an attmept to forewarn anyone not prepared for this dark and deliscious treat.
4. Framboise Lambic: an incredibly yummy Belgian ale with raspberries added *pause for excessive drooling and to go get towel* Needless to say another definitely repeat-worthy item.
By the way...there are far, far more of these varied temptations awaiting us on our next H.A.W.
Stay tuned
