*sigh* Since Mattieu took me to task recently for having posts which are "too happy," this one should satisfy his appetite for "average" posts...or at least hopefully so.

Presently I am feeling a little under the weather for reasons uncertain, but, as with all else, this too shall pass. A few things of note since my last post: Don and I visited the local Arboretum a couple of weeks ago. Owned by Harvard University, the Arboretum is 365 acres in size with flora from all over the US and from many international locations as well. Of greatest interest to us were the bonsai trees on display...some of which are over two hundred years old. Impressed by such beautiful living works of art, we decided to embark on growing some of our own, realizing all the while that it is a lifelong process. It is said that growing and cultivating bonsais is quite therapeutic...an exercise for the spirit so-to-speak.

We also made another daytrip to Salem, MA yesterday where we had brunch with friends and then enjoyed shopping and strolling, taking in the sights as Don gave the history of several points of interest (he lived there for two years). After parting from our friends, we did a bit more shopping with Don finding a new amethyst ring he just HAD to have, :-). It looks great on him. We then completed our day with a quiet and delicious meal at a local restaurant, Finz. I must also add that earlier during our shopping he bought me a new copy of "Hands of Light," an excellent reference text for energy work practitioners. It will come in very handy in my practice.

A recent development is the reintroduction of Reiki into my practice at work. The whole thing began when a client specifically requested Reiki as part of her massage session after learning I was a practitioner. The next day she called the day spa where I work and raved about the results. She had been unable to sleep well for several months, but after receiving Reiki, she went back to her hotel room and slept like a baby. She booked an appointment for a full session of Reiki only just two days after her first appointment. When she came in, she looked quite peaceful and happy...very different from how she appeared at the beginning of her first appointment. We went into session and WOW! I had forgotten how powerful and intensely moving Reiki can be. I hadn't given a full session since before moving to Boston over two years ago. Even though only an hour passed, it felt as though we were in there for a looooooooooooooooooong time. It was as though we were somehow removed from the linear time stream. We both felt absolutely great afterward and word has quickly gotten around about this new service available at the day spa. Needless to say, I am very pleased.

I have to be wrapping up this post as dinner needs to be made soon. We're trying a new idea with pizza: marinated scallops with asparagus, yellow peppers, onions, garlic, and feta cheese. We're looking forward to a much needed quiet evening.

Blessings and Light To All,

David
