You Know You're A Witch When...

* you use Tarot cards as bookmarks

* you only buy wall calendars which have complete astrological information

* you have triple moon coasters

* you wonder why you're getting odd looks from somebody on the subway...and then you remember the pentacle patch on your backpack

* you immediately begin doing mental gymnastics in an effort to determine the lunar phase and which sign the moon is in when you are having a particularly wacky day at work/school etc.

* in a pinch, you discover that an ink pen CAN make a great wand

* you schedule major decisions around the waxing/waning moon/year

* you wonder why the cat is being extra fussy...and then remember that it's full moon

* you recycle damn near everything

* you sense the change of seasons long before any physical signs manifest

* you understand the terms, "deosil" and "widdershins"

* you buy candles and incense based on magical use more often than simply for aesthetics

* your kitchen pantry isn't the only place herbs are kept

Poetry Contest!

I just entered a poem I wrote and published on here last Summer in a $10,000 contest! Even if I don't win the grand prize, it still feels good to enter the poem...a little piece of me, :-). Here's the poem for those who need a refresher or just didn't see it yet:

A Current in the Wind, A Raindrop in the Storm


I fly silently

Alone and yet connected

On ethereal wings of iridescent green

Soaring among the vast stretches between the stars



I am Essence...joined and fulfilled by the Essence all around me


No agenda, no need

Only Microcosm and Macrocosm in union

Sending echoes of laughter

Across immeasurable dimensions


The All delighting in Itself

As Essence pulsates, dances, ebbs, and flows endlessly

Major Shopping Expedition

Over this past weekend we spent a ridiculous amount of money, but most of it on worthwhile stuff. The list includes:

1. a new bed with new pillows(finally)!

2. a new stereo (ditto)!

3. a new cordless phone (a previous one died and the current dinosaur is in its death throes)

4. various and sundry kitchen items i.e a cast iron skillet set, new oven mitts, blah, blah, blah

5. a homedics foot spa(ahhhhhhhhh...feels sooooooooo good)

6. more tea lights

7. new computer chair cushions

8. a new floral wreath for the front door

9. last but certainly not least, gifts for my family

It was great fun doing all the shopping and I am currently waiting for the new bed to arrive. Once that is in place, we will have a place for overnight guests(finally)!
