First Snowfall
Nov. 27th, 2002 07:49 am*sipping slowly on excellent coffee* This morning is so beautiful. At just ten past six, Don came into our bedroom to wake me with the news about the snow outside. We both went and peered out the front window...awed at the thick, white blanket covering everything. We were immediately reminded of last year when I first moved in and how that night we had a snowfall very much like this one...something we took as a good omen for making a home together. Even now, the flakes are still falling thick and steady with no sigh of letting up anytime soon. Groceries have been delivered for tomorrow's holiday festivities and more decadence is being picked up by Don to complete our gourmet feast. Tomorrow morning, our dear friend Father John (so affectionately referred to due to his previous occupation as a Catholic priest) will be driving up from the south shore to join us first for a light brunch before we all pile into his car and head over to our dear friend Cindy's for all the Bacchian delights. The menu is simply divine as we are once again experimenting with food and drink in the continued effort to expand our culinary horizons. Just as an example, in lieu of the traditional stuffing, we are having foise gras French toast with black truffles courtesy of mois, :-). And of course, we will be playing Trivial Pursuit as we imbibe and nosh. *sighing contentedly* This is simply grand. I can't wait, :-). Happy holidays everyone.
