Letter of Support From A Dear Friend

vervain13This is an email from an old friend of mine (we go back about ten years give or take) who decided to respond to the Massachusetts governor's denouncement of the Massachuetts Supreme Judical Court's history-making ruling yesterday. Read on and enjoy.
Dear Governor Romney;
It's just my opinion, of course, but I personally believe your pronouncement against your State Supreme Court's Civil Rights decision makes you look like a major smacked ass.
First, it was our God who decided what sets of chromosomes an individual has, so take up your argument with Him and leave your citizens alone.
Second, it's none of government's business anyway. I seriously question why we have to legislate humanity to our fellow citizens.
My wife and I will be visiting your Commonwealth next summer to attend and celebrate the wedding of two of our close gay friends - whether you approve or not. We'll wish them as much joy, comfort and happiness in their relationship as we have in ours - whether you approve or not.
Sure, I'm jot one voice - and I'm not even a registered voter in your state. But I am a voter on national issues - should you ever decide to "come out."
Beyond that, I can build my business, seek vendors, and spend my money in any state I choose. The humanity of a state has more than a little to do with my business and recreational expenditure decisions. But I just represent one family, right?
I actually care not what your personal beliefs are. Be anti-gay if you want. Just stay in the closet.
But as a "leader" in my opinion, you have a responsibility to preserve, protect and defend your citizens - all of your citizens. Instead, sir - again, in my personal opinion - you're coming off as a serious Luddite who'd rather we resume where Salem left off.
