vervain13Me: "Hi. I'm a patient of Dominick's and my fiance and I were wondering what the cost of getting blood tests for our marriage license would be as we are paying for it out of pocket."
The Secretary: "Well for the male it's $35.00 and for the female it's $44.00 due to additional testing so it's $35.00 for the male and $44.00 for the female."
Me: "There is no female."
The Secretary(sounding quite puzzled): "There is no female?"
Me: "Of course not. We're a same sex couple."
The Secretary(sounding REALLY embarrassed): "Oh! I am SO sorry! I am SO sorry!
Me(chuckling gleefully): "No problem. It's a natural assumption."
The Secretary(having recovered her composure): "Well congratulations!
